VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
The Vermont chapter of Maine-based Window Dressers seeks volunteers to help assemble window inserts to make homes more energy efficient and comfortable this winter.
WindowDressers is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization based in Rockland, Maine, dedicated to reducing heating costs and carbon emissions by producing low-cost insulating window inserts.
Since its founding in 2010, the organization has built over 48,000 inserts, with an average payback period of less than one heating season and estimated savings of $27 per window per year.
Volunteers in and around the Mad River Valley have been visiting the homes of folks who have ordered window inserts and measuring each window. The building of the inserts will take place October 29 – November 3 at the Waitsfield United Church of Christ. Volunteers will help assemble the window insert kits. All tasks are taught and there are many ways to help. Join this important work by signing up here.
