There Will Be Music — Porch Concert

For the first time since the pandemic, the White Meeting House is hosting a concert and we hope you can join us!  It will be a Porch Concert and you are invited to gather on the lawn to listen, free of charge.

The Craftsbury Chamber Players will present a socially-distanced outdoor concert on Saturday, August 1, at 7:00 PM. Mary Rowell, Frances Rowell, and Mary Jane Austin will perform a program of (mostly) Music from the Americas, including works by Victor Herbert, Amy Beach, Edward McDowell, and Astor Piazzolla.

We hope you can come and have your heart warmed by live music!  Bring your own chair, or sit on a blanket on the lawn.  Masks and social distancing between family groupings are required.

This Shining Night – Solaris

The Solaris Vocal Ensemble, led by Artistic Director Dr. Dawn Willis, is pleased to announce its upcoming annual This Shining Night benefit concert on behalf of Dragonheart Vermont. The concert will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 7:30 pm at the College Street Congregational Church in Burlington.

This free-will donation concert features vibrant choral works, including one of Solaris’ signature works – Morten Lauridsen’s lovely Sure on this Shining Night, spirituals Give Me Jesus and Let me Fly, the Scottish folk song Joy Be With You All, and a delightful array of vocal solos and small group selections showcasing the broadly varied talents of Solaris’ singers.

Audience donations will be used to support the work of Dragonheart Vermont Sisters at Heart which is a day of celebration, learning and fun with other breast cancer survivor dragon boat teams and their supporters. Visiting teams from around the United States and Canada join together each year for this wonderful event at the beautiful Burlington Waterfront. The day brings friends and loved ones together to reflect upon the joy and gratitude of life and in the bravery and memory of those that have lost their lives to breast cancer.

The Sisters at Heart Celebration will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2020, the day before the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival. For more information please contact Dean King or John Buck or at Solaris’ website: Solarisensemble.org.
