The Vermont Italian Opera Intensive, in its second season is holding a concert in our sanctuary on Sunday, July 29 at 4pm.
The concert is the culmination of a two week intensive for professional (and semi-professional) musicians who are interested in singing Italian opera and is organized by Mary Jane Austin and Erik Kroncke. It is modeled after a program in Italy, which both Mary Jane and Erik have attended. Erik and Mary Jane have over twenty years of experience in Italian opera and have worked with some of the greatest conductors, singers, and directors of the Italian opera tradition.
The concert features snippets of opera are the music is set up with the highly entertaining stories of the original opera. It’s a fun and beautiful afternoon, and you won’t want to miss it. And, you’ll recognize many in the program as regularly vocalists here on Sunday morning.
Here’s a link to the Rutland Herald‘s article about the concert.
